Egypt Gold Price tracks the live price of gold in Egypt second by second: 24K, 22K, 21K and 18K per gram in Egyptian Pounds, the Egyptian Gold Pound (Geneih Dahab, 8 g of 21K), silver 999, and the USD/EGP exchange rate.
Prices reflect the international XAU/USD spot price converted to EGP, with transparent notes on the typical Egyptian dealer spread (~3.11%) and jeweler labor cost / masna'iya (~4.45%). Use the bullion and Zakat calculators to price a purchase, a savings plan or your annual Zakat instantly.
Egypt Gold Price tracks live 24K, 21K, and 18K gold prices in Egyptian Pounds (EGP), updated every 1 to 2 seconds. The dashboard also displays the live USD/EGP rate and Sell / Buy-back values for each karat.
21K gold is 87.5% pure and the most popular karat in Egypt for jewelry and savings. The live 21K Sell and Buy-back prices per gram are shown at the top of the dashboard. To convert into USD, GBP, EUR, SAR, AED, KWD or QAR, use the Currency Converter on the homepage.
The Sell price is what you pay to purchase gold. The Buy-back price is what a dealer pays when you sell gold back. The difference reflects the typical dealer spread in the Egyptian retail market.
The Egyptian Gold Pound is a coin weighing 8 grams of 21K gold. It is widely traded in Egypt as a savings and gift instrument. To estimate its value, multiply the live 21K price per gram by 8.
The USD/EGP rate updates in real time and reflects the gold-market-implied rate, which may differ slightly from official Central Bank of Egypt or commercial bank rates.
Use the Calculator. Enter the weight and karat of your gold. If your holdings exceed the Nisab threshold (85g of 24K gold, or 595g of silver, with the silver standard generally recommended), you owe 2.5% Zakat. The calculator supports both Hanafi and Maliki / Shafi'i / Hanbali interpretations.
Use the Currency Converter on the homepage: enter weight, choose unit (gram, ounce or kg), pick karat (24K, 21K or 18K) and the widget instantly shows the value in EGP, USD, GBP, EUR, SAR, AED, KWD, and QAR using live exchange rates.
Karat measures gold purity: 24K is 99.9% pure, 21K is 87.5% (Egypt's standard for jewelry), and 18K is 75%. Lower karats are more durable but contain less gold by weight, so they are priced proportionally lower per gram.
Open the Bars page, choose a dealer (BTC or SAM), the metal and karat where applicable, then the product family and weight. Egypt Gold Price will calculate an estimated total using the live gram price plus that dealer's premium and cashback terms.
The live price is the raw market value of the metal. Jewelry shops in Egypt add masnaeya (labor) of roughly 30–120 EGP per gram depending on design, plus a small dealer spread and 14% VAT on the labor portion only. For bullion coins and bars, the premium is much smaller.
21K is the most liquid in Egypt — almost every shop buys it back at a transparent rate close to the live buy-back price. 18K loses more on resale because of its lower purity and higher labor share, and 24K bullion holds value well but is less common as jewelry.
Dammgha is the official Egyptian Assay Office stamp confirming the karat. Always check for the karat number (e.g. 875 for 21K, 750 for 18K) and the assay mark before buying — unstamped pieces can be underweight or under-karat and are hard to resell.
Egyptian shop prices are usually re-set in the morning based on global spot and the USD/EGP rate, then adjusted intraday for big moves. Buying early in the day, or on a small dip after a sharp run-up, typically gets you a slightly better quote than buying after a rally.
